Quilt As You Go.

Got some fabric scraps from your enormous stash? Running out of ideas or need some inspiration? Look no further!

Quilt as you go is a technique that allows you the freedom to quilt all of your layers together. You stack your pieced block, with batting and backing fabric cut to the same size, sandwich them together,  quilt them, then join blocks together! This technique enables you to create solid, structured panels for your sewing projects.

Quilt as you go  is ideal for quilters who work on home sewing machines rather than a longarm, as this method can be a real space saver. It’s not only a great way to finish large quilts on a small machine, but a fun way to piece together panels for smaller projects.
You will make a tablet/ipad /notebook sleeve during this class, but we will also focus on how to apply this technique on existing patterns. After the workshop you will be able to use the steps for many more projects to come!

One of my favourite items that I have made at the craft studio and I have made a few! I have been showing it to everybody and love the way you can use up all those pieces of material you normally chuck in the bin, I’m definitely sold on this technique. As all the other reviews state Brit is fab and makes it really easy, it is a lovely relaxed class and everybodies end results were so different yet so professional. A definite must for any crafter

Super workshop…emphasis was given on learning the technique, but Brit was also determined we all left with a finished item. She supported us really well, made sure we knew what we were doing at all times, gave very clear instruction, and insider tips…couldn’t think of a nicer way to pass my time…some great finished products too, really enjoyed seeing what different results were all produced from the same technique…highly recommended!

Brit is such a wonderful encouraging teacher. This class is wonderful, easy and creative! All the bags looked amazing and each one was individual to its owner. I thoroughly recommend it and the method of quilting as you go is so handy: I’m looking forward to my next project using it!

Just attended my first course at The Craft Studio and I am most impressed…. everyone so friendly and helpful and expert tuition from Brit. She made me feel so at ease and I feel much more confident now in creating projects with the ‘quilt as you go ‘ method. Thank you very much for making my day so enjoyable, and I also made a bag! Great!! Now looking forward to my next session in March.
    Kind regards, Glenys.

This has been my favourite technique I have learnt so far! I’m not the most artistic or accurate so the freestyle nature of this technic suits me down to the ground!!
Thanks Brit for yet another fab day – you’re a star!

Another excellent class from Brit. This is an easy (honestly!) and fun technique to learn, and once you know how to do it the possibilities are endless. As well as learning a new technique you also come away with a usable pouch. Can’t wait to make something else, thanks Brit!

Thank you Brit! I absolutely loved this class, such a wonderful way to use fabric scraps that we all keep. And brings a whole new dimension to all the bag patterns as I can now go back and make them again using patchwork pieces! Would definitely recommend this class to everyone, especially those who like sewing and want to try something new!

Thank you Brit for my beautiful pouch! I love it! I’ve already been asked to make one for a friend for Christmas!! This class is a fantastic way to teach you a new skill and has so many other applications, from phone covers, ipad covers, pillows, storage baskets! It’s a fantastic way of learning what to do with those scrap pieces of fabric! 😀

Fab class with Brit, really pleased with my pouch! This technique offers loads of possibilities to create sturdy but attractive pouches, bags, baskets & quilts. Also a brilliant way to use fabric scraps.
