4 Week Applique Free Machine Embroidery

Our weekend applique and free machine classes are so popular, that we have decided to incorporate the techniques and much more into this brand new evening class.

Once you have gained confidence with the basics of applique and free machining, we will look at developing your own style and colour palette to create your very own work of art.

You will learn about how to bring fabrics together using colour, pattern, texture and layering with techniques such a s confetti and mosaic applique.

So say goodbye to straight lines and formality and say hello to scrap fabrics and sketchy stitching!

If you have never used a sewing machine before you may benefit from the Sewing Taster Session  to help you build confidence, as it is important that you have the basic skills before attending this course.

  1. 5 out of 5 Really useful and enjoyable course

This was my first workshop at the Craft Studio and I thought it was great. Clare took us through the basics of setting up the machine properly for free machining and a number of different options and techniques to help us create our designs.

We then had the opportunity to complete a project, so I came away with a finished item, in my case a journal cover (see photo). The room and equipment were well set up with everything we needed and Clare explained everything really clearly; she was very patient and always on hand to help.

The course definitely boosted my confidence and I’ve since gone on to make a few more things at home. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it – thanks Clare!
